12/9/2023 0 Comments Miami vice cast![]() Thomas' Miami Vice co-star Don Johnson recorded an album shortly afterward titled Heartbeat. Thomas performed the title song of the album during the 1985 Miami Vice episode "The Maze." The episode "Trust Fund Pirates" featured another of his songs, "La Mirada". It sold poorly and failed to produce a hit single, although Thomas produced a video for the track "Just the Way I Planned It". In 1985, Thomas released a music album titled Living the Book of My Life under his own record label called Spaceship Records. He reprised his role in the 2006 prequel Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, which details Lance's arrival in Vice City, the beginning of his involvement in the drug business, and his relationship with Victor. In 2002, Thomas performed a voice-over in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City as Lance Vance, a supporting character who aids the game's protagonist, Tommy Vercetti, in several story missions, while trying to avenge his brother, Victor Vance, killed in a botched drug deal with Tommy at the beginning of the game. His first appearance was in the episode "Wild Card", and his second and final appearance was in the episode "Out of Miami", aired in 2001 during the program's final season. He played Cedrick "Rick" Hawks, a Deputy United States Marshal from Miami visiting Bridges (Johnson) in San Francisco. In 1997, Thomas was reunited with Don Johnson for two appearances in the police drama Nash Bridges. He has not, as of June 2023, been nominated for any of these awards, but has received a People's Choice Award and a Golden Globe nomination. Thomas coined the acronym " EGOT", meaning "Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony", in reference to his plans for winning all four. In 1986, he was given an increase to $50,000 ($141,000) per episode for Seasons 3–5. Thomas was reportedly paid $25,000 (equivalent to $70,000 today) per episode for Seasons 1–2. In Miami he encounters another undercover cop, Sonny Crockett, who is coincidentally looking for the same person. In 1984, Thomas began playing the role of Ricardo Tubbs, an ex- NYPD police officer from the Bronx who came to Miami seeking revenge on the person who killed his brother Rafael Tubbs. His big break came in 1984, when he landed a starring role in the popular television series Miami Vice alongside Don Johnson. Thomas ultimately quit school to pursue acting as a profession, appearing in several features during the 1970s - including the classic musical drama Sparkle (1976). During this time, he auditioned for and won a role in the San Francisco cast of Hair, which began his acting career. Īfter two years at Oakwood College, Thomas transferred to the University of California, Riverside. Thomas earned a scholarship to the historically Black Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama, where he studied religion and philosophy after high school. He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1967 and briefly worked as a janitor to save money for college. Īs a child, he acted in his church's theater group and, at age 15, while participating in the Pentecostal Delman Heights Four Square Gospel Church choir, became interested in ministry. He and his seven half brothers and sisters had the surname Thomas, which was the last name of his mother's first husband. His father, Louis Diggs, was a foreman at a Westinghouse plant. He is of African American, Native American, Irish, and German descent. Thomas was born in Columbus, Ohio, but grew up in San Bernardino, California. He served as a spokesperson for cell phone entertainment company Nextones, and also voiced the character Lance Vance in the video games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002) and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (2006). After his success in Miami Vice, he appeared in numerous made-for-TV movies and advertisements for telephone psychic services. His first notable roles were in Coonskin (1975) and opposite Irene Cara in the 1976 film Sparkle. Philip Michael Thomas (born May 26, 1949) is an American actor and musician, best known for his role as detective Ricardo Tubbs on the hit 1980s TV series Miami Vice. 12/9/2023 0 Comments Gps tracker for android and iphone![]() Some manufacturers supply a configuration tool for setting parameters for your device.Īn example of this is iStartek with their Parameter Editor tool. I have not had any problems with that and in fact find it way better than a independent note locations and so on where I could never find anything and it just went into the cyber hole. Additionally, with easy export options that include Google Drive, Dropbox, and Airdrop, I can easily view my notes on my desktop when I want to see them on a larger screen, even if I haven't installed the Notability app on my computer. If anybody finds it useful, I have a Keyboard Maestro macro that puts a date and my own codes at the start of a note’s title, so I just mix them in with everything else. Personally, I go around this problem by using my iPad and attaching a Logitech keyboard to my setup. One complaint of Notability is that it recently created a Mac version of the app for desktop, but users have experienced some crashing. It also lets you write past the margins of a standard piece of paper, a nice feature that allows for more creativity, but that can also make it hard to print or preview how your notes would look on a regular sheet of paper. One difference I noticed when testing OneNote is that, unlike Notability, which is solely a Mac app, OneNote is compatible with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices. Other options include Microsoft's OneNote, Goodnote, and Evernote apps with many similar features to Notability. Notability is not the only option when it comes to productivity apps. However, complex illustrations started on Notability can be exported to Illustrator, and the app itself is best for making simple designs - or just bringing your notes to life with fun hand-drawn graphics. Notability isn't marketed exclusively towards visual artists, so it lacks many handy features visual creators expect on apps like Procreate or Illustrator and has crashed when I've drawn entire scenes with many overlapping parts. ![]() And if you like a color you used in a previous note or saw in an ad online, you can use the color dropper to grab the colors you like from any color already on the page. If you're just a casual sketcher, it can help you make cleaner images with features that turn unevenly drawn lines into straight-edged shapes. I've even used the app to make illustrations for newspapers and magazines. Whenever I make shareworthy sketches - whether I want to just send to friends or use them for professional purposes - I can send them off without having to tear pages out of notebooks or use a scanner. This feature of the app means that I never have to print out and scan any paperwork.Īnother nice perk is the user-friendly screen lends itself well to sketching. ![]() For instance, because Notability allows users to import PDFs, whenever I have a form to complete and sign, I can simply send it over to Notability, fill in what I need to, and then email it back, choosing which pages I want to export. Notability is also useful beyond in-person notetaking. And there's presentation mode to help you share notes in a more traditional, Powerpoint-like format, all while continuing to be easily navigable. You can also turn handwriting into text and share your messily scrawled notes with others in a format they can actually read. More recent versions also allow for more customizability in terms of pen and highlighter colors and the ability to search handwritten notes. Since I downloaded the app in the mid-2010s, it has expanded some of its features, now letting users record audio as they write, allowing them to see what they wrote at each point in a meeting and remember what each hasty scribble means. I could use different colored pens to color code my notes move around notes if a meeting circled back to an old topic quickly sketch tables, charts, and graphs drop in pictures and webpages, and even write directly on the presenter's PowerPoint slides. I quickly fell in love with the app and found I was able to be more organized than I'd ever been on paper or in a word-processing doc. So, I made the switch from handwritten notes to digital note-taking, downloading Notability on my iPad Air 2. I got the app because, as a student, I had to share work with teachers and peers but also needed to have access to everything I wrote down. ![]() Login with your ONID email and password.Disconnecting will leave the session running in the background. When closing the Citrix Viewer you will be given a choice to either "Log Off" or "Disconnect". 12/9/2023 0 Comments Dangers of spinal fluid leak![]() One well-known and widely accepted management option is surgical repair by either meticulous direct primary closure of the dura or augmented closure by means of fat, muscle tissue, or a fascia graft. Several methods are used for the management of CSF leak including direct suturing 1, 6 ), percutaneous injection 7, 8 ), drainage therapy 9- 11 ), and blood patch 9, 12- 14 ). All our patients were advised to have a day of bed rest following the blood patch injection, and CSF leak did not recur in any of the patients. Our current results demonstrate that this simple procedure for postoperative CSF leaks provides a good alternative to reoperation. The symptoms of intracranial hypotension resolved, and no complications such as worsening back pain, lower limb pain, or fever occurred. CSF leak did not recur after the procedure in any of the patients. The patient's clinical status was assessed following the blood injection and was based on the presence of the following: evidence of recurrence of CSF leak, intracranial hypotension symptoms, low back pain, lower limb symptoms, and fever.Īll patients were advised to take a day of bed rest and all patients could stand and walk reassuringly the next morning. 1a, b) until we saw overflowed blood from the tract. After repairing the dural tear, we checked the CSF leak using the Valsalva maneuver. In microendoscopic decompression, we used a small piece of polyglactin 910 and fibrin glue without suturing the dura. In four out of five cases, we sutured the dura and reinforced it using a small piece of polyglactin 910 (Vicryl Knitted Mesh, Ethicon, Somerville, New Jersey) and fibrin glue (Bolheal, Astellas, Tokyo, Japan) 4 ). In five cases, CSF leak from dural tears was noted. ![]() The surgeries performed included decompression in two patients (one microendoscopic surgery), fusion in four, and an epidural cyst resection in one. After much hard work and many discoveries, they determined that what they were observing was fission, and that the new elements that Fermi had found were fission products. This spurred Hahn and Meitner, the discoverers of the most stable isotope of protactinium, to conduct a four-year-long investigation into the process with their colleague Strassmann. Ida Noddack suggested that instead of creating a new, heavier element 93, it was conceivable that the nucleus had broken up into large fragments, and Aristid von Grosse suggested that what Fermi's group had found was an isotope of protactinium. However, not everyone was convinced by Fermi's analysis of his results. Fermi won the 1938 Nobel Prize in Physics for his "demonstrations of the existence of new radioactive elements produced by neutron irradiation, and for his related discovery of nuclear reactions brought about by slow neutrons". Enrico Fermi and his colleagues in Rome studied the results of bombarding uranium with neutrons, and Fermi concluded that his experiments had created new elements with 93 and 94 protons, which his group dubbed ausenium and hesperium. The discovery of the neutron by James Chadwick in 1932 created a new means of nuclear transmutation. ![]() The discovery came after forty years of investigation into the nature and properties of radioactivity and radioactive substances. By analogy with the division of biological cells, he named the process "fission". Meitner calculated that the energy released by each disintegration was approximately 200 megaelectronvolts, and Frisch observed this. Meitner and her nephew Frisch theorised, and then proved, that the uranium nucleus had been split and published their findings in Nature. ![]() They reported their findings by mail to Meitner in Sweden, who a few months earlier had fled Nazi Germany. Hahn suggested a bursting of the nucleus, but he was unsure of what the physical basis for the results were. Hahn and Strassmann at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Chemistry in Berlin bombarded uranium with slow neutrons and discovered that barium had been produced. Hahn was awarded the 1944 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of nuclear fission. Scientists already knew about alpha decay and beta decay, but fission assumed great importance because the discovery that a nuclear chain reaction was possible led to the development of nuclear power and nuclear weapons. The fission process often produces gamma rays and releases a very large amount of energy, even by the energetic standards of radioactive decay. Fission is a nuclear reaction or radioactive decay process in which the nucleus of an atom splits into two or more smaller, lighter nuclei and often other particles. Nuclear fission was discovered in December 1938 by chemists Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassmann and physicists Lise Meitner and Otto Robert Frisch. The change in mass for the decay of 1 mol of 14C is −0.000168 g = −1.68 × 10 −4 g = −1.68 × 10 −7 kg.The nuclear reaction theorised by Meitner and Frisch starting the nuclear reaction observed by Hahn and Strassmann. The difference in mass, which has been released as energy, corresponds to almost one-third of an electron. 12/8/2023 0 Comments Smedley butler movieHowever, Dillenbeck ends up doing nothing of the sort, despite the threats of Valerie's brother Tom Voze (Rami Malek), who is in on the whole conspiracy. ![]() He says that he's going to give a speech at the New York veterans' reunion gala that will effectively start the revolution in the US.
